Language usage tips: Remember X Remind
Ex.: Remind me to bring the book you want to read. Ou com casos de similaridade ou semelhança. Ex.: Rodrigo reminds me Paul Mcartney.

Pen Pal - international Scout
I have been a Girl Scout for 6 or more years and I just loved. Nowadays, there are many resources to live Scouting in a world atmosphere. I met my student and friend Wilson at this phase of my life. So, I met my husband and love and also most of my special friends!!!! So, I really thank God to be part of Scouting.
One of the good things of being part of Scouting is making friends. And you can also have pen pals there, how?
Check up these suggestions for Pen Pal Program ideas - International Scouts, here.
I am surprised with the possibilities!!!
By the way, have you been a Boy/Girl Scout or do you know anyone that had been or is part of this?

Swing Dancing to Bill Haley and the Comets (1956)
Specially to Wil and to some students that heard me saying:
"See you later Alligator!"
After this song, this became "famous" among friends. It says here it was a cartoon that used the expression, but I think it was the song. What do you think?
Have fun with the video and also take a look at the lyric and sing together:
Well, I saw my baby walkin'
With another man today
Well, I saw my baby walkin'
With another man today
When I asked her what's the matter
This is what I heard her say
See you later alligator
After 'while crocodile
See you later alligator
After 'while crocodile
Can't you see you're in my way now
Don't you know you cramp my style
When I thought of what she told me
Nearly made me lose my head
When I thought of what she told me
Nearly made me lose my head
But the next time that I saw her
Reminded her of what she said
See you later alligator
After 'while crocodile
See you later alligator
After 'while crocodile
Can't you see you're in my way now
Don't you know you cramp my style
[Instrumental Interlude]
She said, I'm sorry pretty baby
You know my love is just for you
She said, I'm sorry pretty baby
You know my love is just for you
Won't you say that you'll forgive me
And say your love for me is true
I said wait a minute 'gator
I know you meant it just for play
I said wait a minute 'gator
I know you meant it just for play
Don't you know you really hurt me
And this is what I have to say
See you later alligator
After 'while crocodile
See you later alligator
So long, that's all, goodbye
EXTRA EXERCISE:
Pick up from 3 to 5 words you don´t know and look for the meaning and include them in your VOCABULARY NOTEBOOK.

How to make a happy birthday banner for cake
Hi! Today´s post is for you that wants to learn how to make things in English and love following steps in English!
There´s someone´s birthday to celebrate and have time to make yourself a decoration to the cake?
Let´s do it!
Read the tutorial at Birthday Girl. It is very easy and the effect is cute! Don´t you think?
Caso façam algo do tipo, mandem foto e vou adorar postar aqui no blog!

Wanessa Camargo sings in English
Hi!
Do you know that Wanessa Camargo (now, simply Wanessa) sings in English?
I saw it last Saturday at Caldeirão do Huck.
I liked the rythm and think that it is a marketing issue, trying to be POP and to play in discos.
It is a style that in Brazil, if you sing in Portuguese, you don´t sell CDs.
Also, in English, maybe as a Braziliam, she can make language speakers fans, don´t you think?
The only thing I think is that the lyric should be better, but let´s cross our fingers to her success and hope she can launch good songs for dancing and with good lyrics too!
Check for yourself the TV program when she performs Sticky Dough.
Guess what, she is a Braziliam and can sing in English. What about you? You can speak English too, baby!
Here you can read an interview at Rolling Stone and see more about her career projects.

Alphabet for kids
I loved this animal graphic alphabet. You can buy it here.
See some more of lovely alphabet pictures here at All Sorts, with the post some modern pictorial alphabets.
Instead of buying it, you can make one with your students. The class can be separated in groups and each group can choose a theme and make it with draws or pictures. Or you can suggest a poster as the theme you are seeing now at school.
Also, if you are not a teacher, but have kids, it is a good way for you to spend some time indoor with your kids doing it.
If you like and make it, sen me a picture of the poster. I will love to post it here in our blog.
It is a special invitation to Eccleston School, our smart Argentinian kids readers!

Is that good to read or subscribe a newspaper in English?
That was the question Wil made me yesterday. For my surprise! He reminds me when I was intesifying my studies in the language and also I was crazy for improving my vocabulary. Yes, reading newspapers is challenging because they use a more natural and coloquial style and also you become updated with the news.
Nowadays, you can have an online subscription or you can subscribe to have the hardcopy (paper copy), but, I don´t know how long they will take to arrive in your place.
I know that dowtown, in Rio, there are newstands specialized in international newspapers and magazines.
I used to read The New York Times and the time I used to susbcribe to it (online), there were texts from it on the federal vestibular etc.
It is the one I used to read and then I will restart reading after our last class, ok Wil?
If you are curious, go to their website and explore it a little. Maybe there is a blog you like to follow, there is the crosswords and other games section, so you can read the front page only and see the news and get more involved with the language, the culture and use some time reading in English.
Tell me if you like the idea and your experience, ok?

Which dictionary should I buy?
I recommend you the Cambridge Dictionary.
They have the:
Phrasal verbs
Idioms
Essential American English learner´s
Essential British English learner´s
Advanced Learner´s
It comes with a CD and it shows the Thesaurus. What is it?
It shows the structure and hierarchy of the word. You know that it is much easier to learn the words in context, right?
Also, it brings visual dictionaries, I mean, some words come with a type of picture dictionary. For example, a part of a plane links you with a picture page where you can see a plane and its parts and so on.
The best part is that they have online free dictionaries and you can search in all of the dictionaries, listen to the british or american accent, check the thesaurus...so, I am a huge fan of them.
Check it for yourself, click here.
By the way, last class with Wil motivated me to post this here. So, Wil, if you are going to buy a dictionary, you should go to advanced, ok? Phrasal verbs and idioms are complementary ones. You don´t need to buy them in just one way, you can program your shopping. It is just a tip and thanks for providing me so great classes! Go ahead man!

Hoje é o dia Mundial do Rock.
EU SOU VIDRADA EM ROCK, gente! I just love it!
Curto muito Beatles, Guns and Roses e gosto do Bon Jovi.
Help me to get updated!

Faith No More - Epic (Official Promo Video)
Epic
Can you feel it, see it, hear it today? If you can't, then it doesn't matter anywayYou will never understand it cuz it happens too fastAnd it feels so good, it's like walking on glassIt's so cool, it's so hip, it's alrightIt's so groovy, it's outta sightYou can touch it, smell it, taste it so sweetBut it makes no difference cuz it knocks you off your feet
You want it all but you can't have it
It's cryin', bleedin', lying on the floorSo you lay down on it and you do it some moreYou've got to share it, so you dare itThen you bare it and you tear it
You want it all but you can't have itIt's in your face but you can't grab it
It's alive, afraid, a lie, a sinIt's magic, it's tragic, it's a loss, it's a winIt's dark, it's moist, it's a bitter painIt's sad it happened and it's a shame
You want it all but you can't have itIt's in your face but you can't grab it
What is it?It's itWhat is it?...
Emmerson Nogueira - Roxanne
Roxanne
The Police
Composição: Sting
Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
Those days are over
You don't have to sell your body to the night
Roxanne, you don't have to wear that dress tonight
Walk the streets for money
You don't care if it's wrong or if it's right
Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
Put on the red light, put on the red light
Put on the red light, put on the red light
Put on the red light, oh
I loved you since I knew ya
I wouldn't talk down to ya
I have to tell you just how I feel
I won't share you with another boy
I know my mind is made up
So put away your make up
Told you once I won't tell you again it's a bad way
Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
You don't have to put on the red light
Put on the red light, put on the red light

Led Zeppelin
Composição: Jimmy Page / John Bonham / John Paul Jones / Robert Plant
It's been a long time since I rock and roll
It's been a long time since I did the stroll
Let me get it back, let me get it back
Let me get it back, baby, where I came from
It's been a long time, been a long time
Been a long lonely
Lonely, lonely, lonely
Lonely time
Yes, it has
It's been a long time since the book of love
I can't count the tears of a life with no love
Carry me back, carry me back
Carry me back, baby, where I came from
It's been a long time, been a long time
Been a long lonely
Lonely, lonely, lonely
Lonely time
Seems so long since we walked in the moonlight
Making vows that just can't work right
Open your arms, opens your arms
Open your arms, baby, let my love come running in
It's been a long time, been a long time
Been a long lonely
Lonely, lonely, lonely
Lonely time
Curtiu a versão?
Pink Floyd - Money - Live 8
Money
Pink Floyd
Composição: Waters
Money, get away.
Get a good job with more pay and you're okay.
Money, it's a gas.
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team.
Money, get back.
I'm all right Jack keep your hands off of my stack.
Money, it's a hit.
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit.
I'm in the high-fidelity first class travelling set
And I think I need a Lear jet.
Money, it's a crime.
Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie.
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today.
But if you ask for a raise it's no surprise that they're
giving none away.
"HuHuh! I was in the right!"
"Yes, absolutely in the right!"
"I certainly was in the right!"
"You was definitely in the right. That geezer was cruising for abruising!"
"Yeah!"
"Why does anyone do anything?"
"I don't know, I was really drunk at the time!"
"I was just telling him, he couldn't get into number 2. He was asking
why he wasn't coming up on freely, after I was yelling and
screaming and telling him why he wasn't coming up on freely.
It came as a heavy blow, but we sorted the matter out"
Cássia Eller - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (cover)
It was twenty years ago today
Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play
They've been going in and out of style
But they're guaranteed to raise a smile
So may i introduce to you
The act you've know for all these years
Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
We're Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
We hope you will enjoy the show
We're Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
Sit back and let the evening go
Sgt. Peppers lonely. Sgt. Peppers lonely
Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
It's wonderful to be here
It's certainly a thrill
It's such a lovely audience
We'd like to take you home with us
We'd love to take you home
I don't really want to stop the show
But I thought that you might like to know
That the singer's going to sing a song
And he wants you all to sing along
So let me introduce to you
The one and only Billy Shears
And Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club
We're Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club
We'd like to thank you once again
Sgt. Peppers one and only Lonely Hearts Club Band
It's getting very near the end
Sgt. Peppers lonely
Sgt. Peppers lonely
Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band

Elvis Presley - Blue Suede Shoes 1956 (COLOR and STEREO)
(Words & music by carl perkins)
Well, it's one for the money,
Two for the show,
Three to get ready,
Now go, cat, go.
But don't you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.
Well, you can knock me down,
Step in my face,
Slander my name
All over the place.
Do anything that you want to do, but uh-uh,
Honey, lay off of my shoes
Don't you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.
You can burn my house,
Steal my car,
Drink my liquor
From an old fruitjar.
Do anything that you want to do, but uh-uh,
Honey, lay off of my shoes
Don't you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.
Well, it's one for the money,
Two for the show,
Three to get ready,
Now go, cat, go.
But don't you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes

Falsos amigos

Speak Up
That is a great coincidence! My student and friend Wilson today asked me about The Speak Up magazine. I remember my times of student of English, with no Internet or cable available around here. So, I used to buy this magazine. He asked me if it is a good idea or not for his level. As he can write and read in English, I think it is a good material.
If you think about having Speak UP for improving your English, here are my good points listed:
What about you?
What things do you do to improve your English out of the classroom?
If you think about having Speak UP for improving your English, here are my good points listed:
- Update yourself about main topics including, music, film, politics etc.
- The CD brings you different accents and English style
- They indicate you the level of difficulty
- They indicate you the British or American English in the topic covered
- It always brings you a music to listen to and learn with the lyric
- Reading magazines put you in touch with a more natural and difficult English, because magazines are written in a more coloquial language, right?

Hostess: Patriotic Party FREE PRINTABLES!
So, the independence day is on Monday (tomorrow, right)? If you are reading this post this Sunday or maybe this Monday and have some time to print these LOVELY free printables the blog Hostess presented us, go ahead!
It is good to use in your dinner and have a small party on Monday.
I think is good for party people that hate Mondays and also wants to practice English to be fluent. This decoration with a quick snack and maybe a good film, like "Independence day", "The Patriotic" or just some American songs on the CD player can be enough to suggest you and your love, or family or friends to have a snack, a drink and SPEAK ENGLISH TOGETHER.
If you do it, please SEND ME A PICTURE OF THE PARTY, OK?
Have the lovely printables here.

In the independence day mood and partying a little!
Hi there!
So, would you like to celebrate 4ht of July around here and have some party?
Here are some good tips.
I found a blog where you have many things about the independence day.
I recommend you:
Independence party ideas
(guess what! I am a partying teacher! I always use themes to have funny classes. If you like parties and want to join your family and friends to have a little immersion using English, here is the excuse!).
Apple pie recipe.
I love apple pie and probably will have one for tea time and for my week classes. Would you like to be my student? Come on!
Patriotic dessert
Barbecue recipes
Do you know they normally celebrate this day with fireworks? How different do you think being patriot is between us and them? Would you like to write me a small post about it?
Do you work for an American Company? Do they close and have a day off in Brazil?

Independence Day
On July, 4th the independence of USA is celebrated. If you want a good film to watch during the weekend and as a bonus, learn about history and culture of the North American people, I suggest you "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson. If you are real into the mood, prepare an apple pie. This is a great film, by the way.
Also, there is the Heath Ledger, great actor.
The good point of watching movies, specially if you put the subtitles in English is to listen to different accents and see some situations that help you with the culture, the habits and behavior.
I remember that the only chance we had for watching movies with subtitles in English, when I was a student, depended of special tapes and they were expensive.
With DVD´s, you just change the sound and subtitles, isn´t it a great opportunity to have some English immersion?
Well, if you watch the film and would like to discuss it or leave here a comment, welcome!

How to make art with a PALLET - Do it yourself
Well guys, you know I LOVE PALLETS and alternative decoration. I was looking for something on this theme, after my student Gi had seen a new thing that will be transformed on a desk to my baby and I found this wonderful artwork and with a DIY.
So, I invite you to dive into this Possible Design atmosphere and maybe who knows, you can try something cheap and different and give your home sweet home a personality or YOUR PERSONALITY.
Visit the blog TIP JUNKIE and have the DIY right here.
If you have some alternative decoration item in your house and want to share. Send the picture of it with the DIY in English and I will post it here. (A good challenge for you that loves decoration and need to practice English, right?)
Waiting for your comments on this post!!!

English and Fun
You know what? That blog atmosphere is surprising. This song and the change of the name of the blog, brought me La Maga and her interesting blog with English and Fun.
We are going to change ideas and be in touch. I visited her blog and just loved it and I invite you to go there and do some activities to have fun and practice your English.
Go to English and Fun at Eccleston School.
I am waiting for your comments. Tell me if you went into a game, or had fun with a song.
(Guess what, I loved the Beatles songs there).

Three Little Birds | Playing For Change
Playing for change is an ONG that collects images and sounds around the world (including Rio) of people playing and singing on the streets and edit all these images and sounds collected, which is turned into a great and full of food to our souls clip.
Watch, sing together and be cool!
I chose this song, Three Little Birds because I am a huge fan of it and this message that makes us believing that "Everything is gonna be all right".
So, I also chose this name to my business of teaching and working with English.
Hope you like it!

The English Alphabet
For basic students or to help you to get the spelling!
Clique Aqui.e treine o alfabeto.
Lembre:
Letras e números estão presentes em:
número do vôo
lugar no avião
passaporte
placa de carro
seu nome e rg/passaporte
endereço
seu site
enfim...

Learn Basic English Numbers & Counting 5 - fun kids English vocabulary c...

New name
Hi Guys,
Hoping you are very well on these rainy days.I have decided to change the blog name into Three Little Birds, instead of Learning English with Kisa.
Three Little Birds bring the love I have for birds leaving in a free way and the message of puress, peace and calm they bring. Also, it is a name of a Bob Marley´s song I just love. It reminds me that every little thing is gonna be allright. And for you that are afraid of never getting this language, it is a good message to you too...

It's Raining Again Roger Hodgson singer songwriter composer
Hello Everybody!
As it is raining again, I decided to start the week posts with this acoustic version of "It is raining again", a classic song of the 80's. I tried to find the clip, but the only one was incomplete.
Watch, enjoy the video, sing together and check the translation:
It's Raining Again (Supertramp)
Oh, it's raining again
Oh no, my love's at an end
Oh no, it's raining again
And you know it's hard to pretend
Oh no, it's raining again
Too bad I'm losing a friend
Oh no, it's raining again
Oh will my heart ever mend
You're old enough some people say
To read the signs and walk away
It's only time that heals the pain
And makes the sun come out again
It's raining againOh no, my love's at an end
Oh no, it's raining again
Too bad I'm losing a friend
C'mon you little fighter
No need to get uptighter
C'mon you little fighter
And get back up again
It's raining again
Oh no, my love's at an endOh no, it's raining again
Too bad I'm losing a friend
C'mon you little fighter
No need to get uptighter
C'mon you little fighter
And get back up again
Oh, get back up again
Oh, fill (feel?) your heart again

Right Said Fred - Don't Talk Just Kiss (Suck Face Remix)
Hi Guys! To celebrate the international day of kiss, here is a classic from the 90's. Watch the clip and sing together. As it is the remix version, you have time to dance a little while waiting the song to real start. It is true that the 90´s atmosphere of the clip is also funny, so it is a good choice to see their performance. So, tell me! Have you ever kissed somebody while listening to this song on a DISCO, back the 90´s?
Lyric:
"Ooh yeah, surrender me a kiss
Let me loose on you inch by inch
The one and only reason is fun fun fun
Well baby, we've only just begun
Don't talk just kiss
We're beyond words and sound
Don't talk just kiss
Let your tongue fool around
Let's fool around
Ooh yeah, there's people there's love
You and I both apply to the above
The one and only reason is fun fun fun
Well baby, we've only just begun
Don't talk just kiss
We're beyond words and sound

Huh-huh we're wasting precious time
Don't talk kiss, make it mine

Let´s try to have a top 10? I used the same photo as Running in heels.
So, leave a comment at this post telling us which book are you reading at the moment and your impressions, ok?

Existem razões para acreditar. [versão 60"]
Good morning! Seguem a letra e a tradução
I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want
I’m free to say whatever I
Whatever I like
If it’s wrong or right it’s alright
Always seems to me
You only see what people want you to see
How long’s it gonna be
Before we get on the bus
And cause no fuss
Get a grip on yourself
It don’t cost much
Free to be whatever you
Whatever you say
If it comes my way it’s alright
You’re free to be wherever you
Wherever you please
You can shoot the breeze if you want
It always seems to me
You only see what people want you to see
How long’s it gonna be
Before we get on the bus
And cause no fuss
Get a grip on yourself
It don’t cost much
I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want
Here in my mind
You know you might find
Something that you
You thought you once knew
But now it´s all gone
And you know it’s no fun
Yeah I know it’s no fun
Oh I know it’s no fun
I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want
I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want
Whatever you do
Whatever you say
Yeah I know it’s alright
Whatever you do
Whatever you say
Yeah I know it’s alright.

Tudo Que
Sempre me parece
Sempre me parece
