When Helena comes with Jose, I normally put videos in English for her.

Here are some videos I recommend for babies.

When you provide access to English videos and songs for babies, they will grow with more facilities to learn English.

Being a Mom is not easy and she needs flexibility for replacing classes and support!

Jose and Marck could talk about the name of the dishes, the food and share experience in English!

I prepared and served a special natural Yogurt and I promised to share the HOW TO MAKE it here. So, there you go:

Natural Yogurt

Ingredients:

2 lt of milk (you decide if you want whole, skimmed or semi skimmed milk)

1 yogurt pot

How to make it:

Boil 2 liters of milk 

Wait until it is easy for you to put and keep your finger in it for 10 seconds 

Put the Yogurt pot

Mix it, cover the pan and wrap it with a towel

Wait at least 6 hours and mix again

Enjoy your Yogurt

TIPS: You need to respect the temperature before mixing the yogurt, or it will not work. Save one glass of Yogurt to prepare the next ones. Do it in the evening and you will have a creamy Yogurt next day. Mix it with your favorite fruits, or save it with mangoe and coconut as a special option for fruit salad.

How to write a good composition

I use this strategy for everything I need to write since I got it in an English Class, at Speak English Idiomas with Mr. Potz.

1- Brainstorming

Take notes of each idea you have about the theme. Don´t mind about if makes sense or not.

You can use a circle, with the theme in the middle and make lines with the words, like a sun

Use post its to make it more creative and make you happy : )

Use a board, a big paper, a notebook.

The point here is try to collect and get in touch with things you know and you would like to talk about the theme

After you have all the words, try to link some of them into groups of connection. Then try to separate then into the parts below

2- Decide how many lines you are going to use and divide it into:

Introduction

Development

Conclusion

Every text must have this structure, so the person that reads it, will get it!

For example, try to think about 5 lines for each part to start!

Sex and The City

Today, I used Sex and The City, episode 1, Season 1 to watch with Sheila.
First, without the subtitles. Then, with the Subtitles in English.
She loved and had fun!

This is a real good exercise for you to improve vocabulary, feel confident do speak and also to be ok with accents, slangs, idioms, phrasal verbs.

If you are in the mood, keep a notebook and go ahead taking notes of expressions.

After the episode we had some fun talking about the four girls: Carrie, Sam, Miranda and Charlotte, talking about our experiences and point of view.

Also, she had to write a composition about Sex and The city nowadays...the real situation!

Today was a special class - elaborating a postcard

Miguel is at home this week getting well from a hard flu and he asked me to get into my private class and Sheila welcomed him very well (Thanks so much)

 

We started with a submarine (chocolate and coffee) and cookies and later they prepared me a postcard.

We Always have Water with lemon, mint, Orange and ice to drink during the class and coffee.

 

So, I could show Miguel how to start a postcard and Sheila could complete one and be in touch with informal and some coloquial language.

Hotel California is a good hit to listen after studying hotel vocabulary

Activity 1: Listen to the song and take notes about words (verbs, nouns, adjectives, etc) or expressions about hotel situations. Write on the comments.

The Mexican Trailer

Today is 5 de Mayo!!!! Viva Mexico!!!! This date is celebrated in USA and in some other parts of the planet. In Mexico, they celebrate it in Pueblo.







Normally there are typical food, drink and dress.
