Hi, from now on, the clip of the week will have a listening exercise to you, so you can practice your listening and vocabulary.
This week, I chose this beautiful song from Loreena Mckennitt. Famous by bringing us celtic songs and stories. I was inspired by Halloween atmosphere. A mythic climate here!
I used to listen to her musics almost every day and I real love them! Hope you like it too. The concert is beautiful and alive.
Activity 1: Listen to music 3 times and complete the spaces (use your notepad or take notes in a peace of paper):
All Souls Night
Bonfires dot the rolling hillsides
______________ dance around and around
To _______________that pulse out echoes of darkness
Moving to the pagan sound.
__________________ in a hidden memory
Images float before my eyes
Of fragrant ______________ of straw and of _____________
And dancing till the next sunrise.
CHORUS
I can see ______________ in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, ______________dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night.
Figures of corns
talks bend in the shadows
___________ _____________tall as the flames leap highThe green knight holds the holly bush
To mark where the old year passes by.
CHORUS
I can see lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night.
Bonfires dot the rolling hillsides
Figures dance around and around
To drums that pulse out echoes of darkness
Moving to the pagan sound.
Standing on the bridge that crosses
The _______________ that goes out to the sea
The wind is full of a thousand voices
They pass by the bridge and me.
CHORUS
I can see lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night.
CHORUS
I can see lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night
